Expanding Support for Youth in Foster Care
Young people living in foster care in our city need help building a strong future where they are set up for success. As an administration committed to uplifting all our city’s youth, we are here to make sure those young people connect to college and career opportunities more easily. That is why, last week, we expanded multiple programs through the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) that support children in foster care.
Strengthening the Fair Futures Program
First, we are expanding “Fair Futures,” which provides one-on-one coaching and tutoring for our young people in foster care — ages 11 to 26 — helping them plan for the future and giving them a head start in life. In Fiscal Year 2024, our coaches, working in partnership with New York City Public Schools, helped a majority of 9th graders in foster care enroll in high schools with above average graduation rates. They also helped 116 high school-age youth who dropped out of high school successfully re-engage and re-enroll in a best-fit academic setting. And while the numbers are important here, they do not tell the full story: the story of those individual lives that are changed when they get support, guidance, and the first and second chances they need to succeed.
Growing Access Through Coaching and Academic Support
Fair Futures began in 2019 and, thanks to the courageous and effective…

By Jonas BronckBuilding, Preserving & Planning 426K+ Units Of Housing To Make Our City More Affordable
By Jonas BronckFor nearly four years, the Adams administration has worked every day to make New York City a safer, more affordable city for all, especially working-class families. We have made great progress on public safety, public health, and economic growth, and we continue to be the most pro-housing administration in modern city history. We are proud of our track record, and we know that the work we have done will keep our city’s fundamentals strong in the years to come.
Nowhere is this more obvious than public safety, where we have hired nearly 10,000 new police officers and driven crime down to historic lows. Shootings are down by 54 percent and murders are down by 36 percent compared to the same period before the start of our administration. Thanks to our work — including removing over 24,000 illegal guns — shooting incidents and shooting victims are both at their lowest levels in our city’s recorded history.
In addition to fighting violent crime, we have protected our neighborhoods and our quality of life by shutting down 1,500 illegal cannabis stores and seizing over $100 million in illegal cannabis products. We have made our…

Opportunity. Fairness. Hard work. These are just some of the values that define New York, and the values I ran in when I campaigned to represent my community in the State Assembly. I believe New York can once again be a place where every family can afford to live, where everyone is welcome, and where opportunity reaches every neighborhood.
To make New York more affordable, we need to hold powerful interests accountable for the role they play in driving up costs, particularly for groceries.
Since the onset of CoViD-19, big box grocers and others told us inflation and supply chain disruptions were to blame for the price increases we saw in their stores. Conveniently, that explanation left out the fact that the stores turned those disruptions into opportunities to make money for themselves. In 2024, consumer rights think tank the Groundwork Collaborative found that corporate profits drove 53 percent of inflation during the second and third quarters of 2023, and that families are paying 25 percent more for groceries than they were before the pandemic, outpacing the inflation rate.
Now, with tariffs and trade tensions in the headlines, big box retailers are dusting off the same playbook and using the uncertainty as a reason to raise prices again. According to reports, Walmart and Target did not even wait for tariffs to actually take effect before having their employees change price tags in their stores.
The New York I believe in fights to protect consumers from price manipulation. It also looks out for the workers who stock the shelves. Sadly, the big box retailers do not seem to share this vision. Not only do they manipulate prices to pad their…

Coaching changes always bring a mix of uncertainty and excitement to college football, and the Mountain West Conference (MWC) is no exception. As the league heads into the 2025 season, several programs will be guided by new or recently settled leaders who could shape the future of their schools. Some inherit proven rosters, while others face the challenge of turning struggling teams around, but all of them add new storylines to an already competitive league.
1. Spencer Danielson, Boise State University
Spencer Danielson has already built an impressive start with Boise State, going 15-3 and securing two MWC titles along with a College Football Playoff berth in less than two seasons. That kind of early success is why oddsmakers currently list the Broncos at +220 to win the Mountain West again in 2025, the shortest odds in the conference. These numbers are available across a range of platforms, including popular options without KYC requirements, which are known for generous bonuses, anonymous betting, and flexible payment methods.
Odds offered by these bookmakers are more than just betting lines; they often reflect how a team’s performance and a coach’s reputation are perceived in the wider market. Danielson’s teams play with discipline and energy. His ability to maximize player development makes him the most compelling figure among MWC coaches.
