The Fordham University rowing squad will travel down to Virginia on Sunday to compete in the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championships on the Occoquan Reservoir at Sandy Run Regional Park.

The conference has seeded the boats for the varsity 8, second varsity 8 and varsity 4 with the Rams second varsity 8 being seeded second while the varsity 4 is seeded sixth and the varsity 8 seventh.

In addition to the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8 and Varsity 4, the A-10 championship will also feature a non-scoring Third Varsity 8 race.

The top three boats in the preliminary rounds will advance to the Grand Finals later in the morning, while the remaining boats will advance to the Petite Final. A points system will be implemented during the finals to determine the final standings.

The winner of this year’s championship will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Rowing Championship, May 30-June 1 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Parking is available at Sandy Run Regional Park but please note that there is a fee, payable only in cash. A complimentary shuttle will be provided from the parking area to the grandstands.
