The Fordham women's volleyball team (5-1) will look to continue its early season momentum on Tuesday night when it hosts Saint Peter's (0-8) at 7:00 p.m. The Rams will hope to get one last victory before embarking on a near-month long road stretch that includes eight contests, two tournaments, and two conference matches.

The contest will be streamed live on the A-10 Digital Network. There have been some issues with fans and the network this season but one common problem tends to be an outdated Adobe Flash Player. Please make sure your software is up to date.

Last Time Out

Fordham hosted Cleveland State and Rider in the combined Volley in the Valley/Rose Hill Classic tournaments over the weekend, falling in straight sets to the Vikings on Friday for its first loss of the season, before rebounding with a four-set win over the Broncs Saturday afternoon. The Rams battled the Vikings throughout their match-up but the visitors used mid-set runs in each frame to clinch the sweep. Olivia Fairchild tallied a game-high 16 kills (.300) with 11 digs, while sophomore Kaitlin Morley came off the bench to reach 14 kills (.464) in just two sets. Morgan Williams notched a game-high 22 digs. Morley made her first start of the year against Rider and was instrumental to the victory, hitting 14 kills yet again, the fifth time she's done so in her career, while also setting a new personal-best with 16 digs. Fairchild double-doubled for the third match in a row, with a game-high 15 kills and 11 digs. McKenna Lahr returned from a one-match absence due to illness to contribute six kills and six digs, while serving up four aces for a third time this season. Nicole Freeley enjoyed a nice match defensively, as well, with five blocks, two solo.

Scouting St. Peter's

The Peacocks have struggled in eight matches to begin this year's campaign, winning just two sets in total against NJIT and Maryland Eastern Shore. Most recently, Saint Peter's competed in Saint Francis Brooklyn's Terrier Invitational, falling to the hosts, UMES, and Massachusetts. Offensively, and defensively, the gameplan flows through middle hitter Alexus Sharp, who leads the team with 55 kills and 19 total blocks, four solo. Kali Viles is next with 32 kills and three others have at least 22. Viles is second on the second with 14 blocks. The Peacocks share duties, with no one three players tallying between 26 and 77 assists, seven players with at least 20 digs

Series History

Fordham leads the all-time series, 11-8, since 1984. The two schools have each won four matches in Bronx. The series was halted between 2006 and 2015 but the Rams have won each meeting the last two seasons, 3-1 in 2015 on the road and 3-0 at home last year. Fordham has won three straight going back to a sweep in 2006. Last year, Olivias Fairchild and LaPorta tallied 11 kills apiece. The latter matched her career-high with the number and did so at an efficient .600 clip. Fairchild (.381) also contributed a block and two digs. Senior Clarissa Cartledge set a new personal-best with five aces and led the team with nine digs. Maddy Walsh notched 37 assists.

Up Next

The Rams head to Phoenix, homes to Cartledge and Fairchild, for next weekend's Grand Canyon Tournament. Fordham will play the hosts first on Friday night at 10 p.m. EST and then Idaho and Gonzaga on Saturday.
