Fordham University has extended the contract of head men's basketball coach Tom Pecora through the 2016-17 season.

Pecora completed his second season with the Rams in 2011-12, compiling a 10-19 mark. He has improved on the win total over the past two seasons. His record stands at 17-40 since coming to Fordham.

"I'm grateful to the university for making this commitment to myself, my staff and my family,"
Pecora said. "Since our first day at Fordham we have been doing everything possible to get this tradition-rich program back to where it should be and we will continue to work hard in order to accomplish our goals and represent Fordham in a first-class manner."

Pecora came to Fordham from Hofstra after compiling a 155-126 record in nine seasons with the Pride.
