A rat bit a Sedgwick Avenue man in his fiancee’s home this week, and his family says the whole building is infested.
“At this point, my daughters don’t have no clothes – because the rats are living in their clothes,” says Christina Garcia, the victim’s fiancee. “You can feel them running under your feet – literally running under your feet. You feel a whole bunch of them. You hear them fighting with each other under the ground.”
Garcia lives with her fiance Carl Bouton at the Kingsbridge Court building along with their online pharmacy for levitra family of seven. His rat encounter left him with a mark on his finger. But his son had to get 14 stitches after another incident.
The Health Department sent a rat extermination crew Friday to help.
Elsewhere in the borough, health officials are trying to clean up a rat problem on the Grand Concourse, where one person died and two other people grew sick with the disease leptospirosis, which spreads through rat urine.
The city says Kingsbridge Court hasn’t passed a rat inspection since 2014 and that the owner will face fines.
