Bronx Healthy Lifestyles Street Fair

Personal health and personal wealth will come together when the Morrisania Neighborhood Family Care Center and CheckSpring Bank co-sponsor a Healthy Lifestyles Fair on Wednesday, August 26th, from 11 a.m. – 03:30 p.m., on Gerard Avenue, between 167th and 168th Streets in the Bronx.

The Healthy Lifestyles Fair will have multiple focuses for families with children, including healthy eating and good nutrition, physical fitness, emergency safety awareness, and a variety of family entertainment options. New York City agencies, local professionals and other organizations participating in the street fair include the NYC Parks Department, Community Chefs, MetroPlus, the NYC Fire Department, and Morrisania’s health professionals, including a Mobile Dental Unit providing free screening and a “Rest and Rock” station for nursing mothers. 

CheckSpring will hold a raffle for $50 money orders each hour of the event, and sponsor free pony rides for children. Bicycles and scooters will be raffled off for all children who participate in the activities. Musical entertainment will be provided by Digital DJ-RR. 

CheckSpring bank staff and branch managers will be on hand to speak with residents about new account services and opening checking accounts at their flagship branch, located in the Bronx.
