Reaching out to concerned parents and their families, Assemblywoman Vanessa L. Gibson is co-hosting an education forum to discuss plans for a new public school being constructed in the community at 1740 Macombs Road in the west Bronx. The meeting is being held in response to the concerns of Morris Heights’ parents about the serious overcrowding that exists in the community’s public schools.
“Parents have expressed frustration about public school overcrowding in Morris Heights and throughout the west Bronx,” Assemblywoman Gibson said. “This meeting brings all the important stakeholders together and provides parents an opportunity to have input on the direction of this new school.”
The community meeting will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the school auditorium of Community School 232 located at 1700 Macombs Road off West Tremont Avenue and West 175th Street. The community meeting is also being hosted by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. and Councilwoman Helen Diane Foster.
