Uruguayan-American pianist and music director Polly Ferman and her acclaimed GlamourTango ensemble will be in concert on Friday, November 9, 2012, 7:30 p.m. at the New York Society for Ethical Culture, 2 West 64th Street in Manhattan. This will be the opening event of the Pan American Musical Art Research’s (PAMAR’s) 7th Annual Latin American Cultural Week in New York City.

GlamourTango is a celebration of women in tango, performed by a company of world-renowned musicians (including piano, bandoneon, guitar, violin and double bass virtuosos), dancers, and a vocalist. It takes the audience on a musical journey through the 20th century with a different and renewed vision of the role of the woman in tango.

See a YouTube video of the group below and for more information, please visit them here.

Under the leadership and musical direction of pianist Polly Ferman, other members of the ensemble include Eleonora Ferreyra, bandoneon, Ina Paris, violin, Tali Roth, guitar and Iris Ornig, bass. Special guest will be singer Roxana Fontan. The ensemble will be joined by dancers Mariana Parma, Mariana Galassi, Ana Padron and Karina Romero.
