Bronx American Indian Festival

At the festival.

The Bronx American Indian Festival 2010 was a wonderful event hosted by Mr. Bobby Gonzalez (Taino). Bobby started his festivals in the famous Van Courtland Park in the Bronx, New York.

The event was moved to Pelham Park a few years ago.

George Washington's Continental Army camped there, The Sivanoy Indians were the inhabitants, they were part of the Wappinger Confederacy. Ann Hutchinson bought property there and was later killed when she did not heed the Sivanoy's warning to get off their land. A highway is named after her in that same area.

Bobby Gonzalez is a famous indigenous lecturer, story teller and host. He is well respected in the Native American community. His bringing together the festival every year gives the local New York natives a chance to unwind and be in a serene setting. The experience is close to that being at a family reunion.
