Sheila Williams, 67, Murdered

On Saturday, May 12, 2018 at approximately 01:54 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress inside of 1600 Sedgwick Avenue, apartment 25F, within the confines of the 46 Precinct in Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 67-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive, with stab wounds to the leg and neck, inside the bedroom. A 39-year-old female was discovered with slash wound to her left forearm. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the 67-year-old female deceased at the scene, while the 39-year-old female refused medical attention. A 60-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene and transported to Saint Barnabus Hospital in stable condition, with charges pending. The investigation remains ongoing.

Family notified.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following suspect has been arrested and charged in regards to this incident:

Tyrone Crawley
60 year-old male
1600 Sedgwick Avenue, Apt. 25F
Bronx, NY 10453

Crawley has been harged as follows: 

  • murder 2
  • manslaughter
  • assault (3 counts)
  • act in a manner injurious to a child (4 counts)
  • criminal possession of a weapon 4 (2 counts)
