Bronx man and woman were arrested with $10,000 in heroin Tuesday night and accused of drug dealing around Coachlight Square, Westchester County police said.

Police seized 500 small bags of heroin, which was packaged in the Bronx to be sold in bundles in Cortlandt, said Lt. James Luciano, commanding officer of the narcotics unit.

Investigators had set up surveillance of the Coachlight Square apartment complex off Kings Ferry Road and saw what appeared to be a drug transaction take place from a gray Pontiac Grand Am at 6 p.m. Police detained the occupants and searched the car with assistance from Detective Mark Carey and his drug-sniffing canine, Helena.

The heroin was found in a large plastic bag under the hood, Luciano said.

The other person at the car had no drugs and was let go, police said.

Gregory Lora, 18, and Priscilla Jeffrey, 21, were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Jeffrey was also charged with marijuana possession, a violation.

They were booked at county police headquarters in Hawthorne on Tuesday night. Jeffrey was released on bail, while Lora was arraigned today in Buchanan Village Court and sent without bail to the Westchester County jail.
