A worker was shot to death Thursday night outside of Westchester Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Mount Vernon.

Police say 32-year-old Desmond Fleming, of Bronx, was targeted in the parking lot adjacent to the center.

Fellow employees say it appeared that Fleming suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and stomach.

We are told that Fleming worked in the center’s kitchen and was a well-liked employee.

The rehab center caters to senior citizens and has operated on Claremont Avenue for more than three decades.

Police have not said whether any arrests were made.
