A Bronx community is breathing a sigh of relief after police arrested an Inwood man wanted for allegedly raping a woman in Wakefield.

Police say German Otero was on the run for three days, but after police released video of him to the media Thursday, they were able to track him down and apprehend him.

According to police, the 36-year-old was arrested and charged for raping a 37-year-old woman Tuesday by Dekalb Avenue and East 208th Street.

Detectives say after Otero met the victim on the street, he led her to a deserted area behind an apartment building where he punched her in the face, raped her and then ran off.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment but is OK.
