The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the attached photographs in connection to a robbery that occurred within the confines of the 47 Precinct.

Details are as follows:

It was reported to police that on Friday February 17, 2017, at approximately 10:30 p.m., in the vicinity of Burnside Avenue and Jerome Avenue, the individual posed as a customer and hailed down the 45 year-old male victim’s cab. The individual sat in the rear seat and asked to be taken to East 233 Street and White Plains Road. During the ride the individual told the victim to pull over at 236 Street and Carpenter Avenue. The individual then placed the victim in a chokehold, put a sharp object to his neck and demanded his money. The victim complied and gave over his wallet. The individual also took the victim’s cell phone before he fled the vehicle. Among the items inside the wallet were $120 in cash and a credit card.

The individual is described as a male black or Hispanic, 30 to 40 years old, 6’0″ and 200lbs; last seen wearing a green baseball cap and a green jacket.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call the NYPD‘s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1800577TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 188857PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers’ website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
