Police are looking for a man accused of shooting a 9-year-old boy in the South Bronx Monday evening.

The child was with his mother at East 157th Street and Walton Avenue about 6:15 p.m. August 27, 2012 when the suspect fired several shots, one of which struck the boy in the lower left leg, police said.

The victim was taken in a neighbor's car to Lincoln Hospital, where he was in stable condition, police said.

Police arrested Roxanne Anico, 26, who is accused of driving a getaway car, and charged her with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, police said.

Now police are looking for the gunman, described as an 18-to-20-year-old man wearing a black T-shirt and a multicolored hat.

Police are offering a $12,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the shooting.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit NYPDCrimestoppers.com.

All calls are strictly confidential.
