Four Bronx residents were charged earlier this week on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in connection with the theft of over $4,000 in merchandise from women’s clothier Alice & Olivia on 371 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830.

After receiving a report of a suspicious group of people — three women and a man — on Greenwich Avenue Tuesday afternoon, police watched the man leave the area and enter a blue Jeep parked on the western curb of Greenwich Avenue.

Police determined the Jeep’s registration was suspended due to an insurance lapse, and, during a motor vehicle stop on Steamboat Road at Arch Street, saw numerous items of women’s clothing with tags still attached on the passenger’s-side floor, police said.

The man, identified as Omori Thomas, 21, of 933 E. 221st Street, Bronx, NY, did not have receipts for the items, which included 13 articles of clothing with tags from Alice & Olivia, 371 Greenwich Avenue, totaling $4,134, police said.

Police reviewed security footage and determined the suspects had been in the store and did not purchase the items, police said. An employee also identified them, police said.

Thomas and the three women were each charged with third-degree larceny and conspiracy. The women, all from the Bronx, are identified as: Angelina Pimentel, 22, of 3905 Carpenter Avenue, Apt. 1J; Kiana Brooks, 21, of 2912 Bruner Avenue; and Crysan Sariese Garriques, 22, of 907 E. 221st Street, Apt. 1A.

The suspects were each issued $2,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford, CT on August 08, 2012.

Thomas was additionally charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle and no insurance.
