The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating a black doll hung by a noose in the Bronx headquarters of the city’s parks and recreation department.

The black baby doll was found hanging by its neck from a metal chain and three “KKK”s were found scratched in a bathroom.

The president of NYC Park Advocates, Geoffrey Croft, says a black employee in his 60s was “traumatized” when he found the doll near his workspace.

The incident happened at Ranaqua, the Parks Department’s Bronx headquarters located at 1 Bronx River Parkway.

In a statement provided to the media, the Parks Department said it “does not tolerate hateful acts such as this or any form of discrimination… We immediately reported this incident to the NYPD and are fully cooperating in their investigation.”

The Parks Department has condemned the disturbing act and says it is fully cooperating with the NYPD investigation.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
