We all know that casual video games relieve stress, or put differently, casual games give us a vacation from reality. With this in mind PopCap is donating on November 13th, 500 boxed, retail copies of their new game Bejeweled Twist to the non-profit organization, Games For Soldiers (GFS). Though Bejeweled Twist is already available on the web it will only hit retail stores on November 18. Our soldiers stationed in Iraq and Pakistan will receive the boxed copies of the game in time to enjoy it during the holiday season.
GFS was the brain child of SPC Williams who secured donations while stationed in Afghanistan to help outfit his unit's Morale, Welfare and Recreation Center. After returning home he founded the Games For Soldiers organization which has shipped thousands of video games to armed services personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2008, to both individual soldiers and base recreation centers and Internet cafes. It is companies like PopCap that have kept GFS afloat.
