Rhonda Heise Asher, a local artist from Washington Heights, is the author of this mellow image of a flower she found in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. She drew the flower while her two children attended the history camp at the Van Cortlandt House Museum.

While the flower is actually purplur, Rhonda did not have a purple pencil with her at the time and improvised with pink instead.

I could only add that this must be a fine example of a true measures of artistry, inspiration and skill.
