Intergenerational Networking Event For Bronx Youth

Celebrating the end of Women's History Month, Prep 4 Success (under the auspice of Neighborhood Initiatives Development Corp. [NIDC]) & the Young Women's Leadership of Collegiate Institute for Math & Science presents a professional networking opportunity along with an abundance of youthful potential for a powerful event on the Christopher Columbus High School campus.

There were five guest speakers from various career fields; Family Physician Dr. Joyce Robert, Corporate and Real Estate Lawyer Ty Foster, NYPD Lieutenant Naeemah Green-Adams, NYPD Officer Gelinda Gethers, and Elite Top Model/Runway Coach LuCelania Sierra.
                                                                                                                                                    
The event took place at Christopher Columbus High School 925 Astor Avenue Bronx, NY 10469- Library on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Prep for Success is a leadership and job readiness program directed by Maryum Opa and is sponsored by Council members Annabel Palmer and James Vacca.  Prep 4 Success was established in 2008, through NIDC, in order to develop the core competencies in who are socially and academically disadvantaged and train them in resiliency and leadership skills. Prep 4 Success currently operates on eight participating middle and high schools throughout the Bronx (Columbus High School, Global Enterprise Academy, Collegiate Institute for Math & Science, School for Community for Research and Learning, High School of World Cultures, and three middle schools- Aspire, Bronx Green, and Pelham Academy).
