A Different Theatrical Experience
Inevitable, written, directed and performed by David Alexandersson, Yana Eresina, Emily Johansson and Sumner Patrick, is opening on the 5th of February at Bruckner Art Gallery, 1 Bruckner Blvd, Bronx, NY at 4:00 p.m.
Emily Johansson is the artistic director of the show and the idea was to collect a group of great actors who wanted to use their artistic desire to create something completely new on stage. The result ended up to be something different than a play in the traditional sense. It consists of four parts - the four actors have written and directed one part each. Every part presents a different portrait of life. For a brief period of time each character’s world is being fully exposed. Their destinies differ and they will show how life can haunt you, deceive you, play with you, strengthen you or perhaps even kill you.
The stories are being told by material written by the actors, physical expression to music and by pieces written by Edgar Allan Poe and William Shakespeare.
Emily Johansson received her 2 year certificate at Katrineberg drama school in Sweden (2009) and will be getting her 2 year certificate from The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in June 2011. She has acted in a number of shows, short films and also participated in performances at the Lilith performance studio in Sweden. It is her debut as an artistic director and producer.
The actors were gathering from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Free admission. Suggested donation at the entrance: students $ 5 - General $10.
