About Lucian Sperta
Lucian A. Sperta-Nunez (1963) was born in New York City. He grew up in East Harlem, New York and attended Park East High School where he engaged in theater and arts.
His father was a musician who was of Spaniard and Ecuadorian heritage and migrated from Ecuador. His mother divorced, and a single parent, is of Spaniard and Italian heritage and was born and raised in New York City's upper East Side.
Lucian graduated from Bronx Community College in 1989 and was Awarded writer of the month from the Meridian News Paper for his essay entitled 'Paying the Price'. At this time he completed and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Human Services while he also studied music. He went on to graduate from Hebert H. Lehman College (1994) with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and graduated from Hunter College (2002) with a Bachelors Degree in Religion, where he also studied music and poetry.
He is a current member of The American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP 1994) and in 1989 he recorded an independent album entitled Moments Like These in which he wrote and co-wrote the lyrics for this project. Under his pen name, Richard A. Lambert, Lucians' poems were published by The National Library of Poetry in the Anthology entitled Through the Hour Glass in 1996. Out of the three thousand poems selected, his poem entitled Through it All, was one of eleven to be included in their audio cassette recording entitled The Sound Of Poetry. At this time he was also nominated Poet of the Year. His poem entitled Sunny, was also published by Quill Books in their Anthology entitled Treasure the Moments. Finally, in the same year, 1996, Feelings Magazine by the Anderie Poetry Press also published his work entitled My Home. These previously sold in Barnes and Nobles Bookstores.
