The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) today commenced the official start of resident voting at Bronx River Addition following 100 days of public engagement at the Bronx development. The vote, which was announced for the site in December 2023, will run for 30 days, providing an opportunity for residents to have a say in the future of their development by choosing between three ballot options: joining the New York City Public Housing Preservation Trust or the Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT) program or remaining Section 9. While Bronx River Addition residents may start voting online or by mail today, they may also cast their votes in person during the final 10 days of the election period — from April 2 through April 11, 2024. A qualified, independent, third-party administrator will conduct and oversee the election.

“From the start of this administration, we have worked to empower NYCHA residents to have a voice in the future of their homes,” said New York City Mayor Eric Adams. “We heard these voices loud and clear at Nostrand Houses as they voted ‘yes’ to joining the Public Housing Preservation Trust, and today it is Bronx River Addition’s moment to take control of their futures. To all the residents at Bronx River Addition, you have heard your options and now is the time to vote. Whether you’re on-site or relocated, you have a say in this process, and we encourage you to cast your ballot early in this historic vote.”

Street Renaming Petition To Honor Mario D’Agostino
The Bronx Daily | Bronx.com

Mario D’Agostino, who passed away June 14, 2020, was a true leader in his community in the Bronx and left his mark on the neighborhood and everyone, who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mario was an honorable man, who changed people’s lives with his beautiful mind, strong work ethic, positive outlook on life and investing in his favorite part of New York City, the Bronx.

You should know that in one of his first public appearances, after having resigned as Governor for New York State, Andrew Cuomo will be visiting the South Bronx. His visit to the Bronx is to meet with Members of “The New York Hispanic Clergy Organization”, which I preside over.

As you know, last summer Governor Cuomo resigned, when he was accused and practically abandoned by all his friends, politicians, and community groups, whom he had helped in the past. These so-called friends, and groups that were all too happy to kiss his ring, joined the “cancel culture” environment, that plaques us all, without due process, they washed their hands with a dismissive attitude, sending the message “Crucify him, crucify him”.

Several courts and judges have dismissed the allegations of “sexual harassment” against Governor Cuomo. With this episode behind him, Governor Cuomo has begun to visit and make public appearances by visiting different faith-based organizations and community groups.

It is very important for you to know that Governor Cuomo’s first public visit was to “God’s Battalion of Prayer Temple” in East Flatbush, Brooklyn on Sunday March 06, 2022. His next planned visit is to the “New York Hispanic Clergy Organization” in the South Bronx.

You should also know that in a recent poll, Governor Cuomo, without being a candidate nor having announced his political aspirations, has polled with just four (4) points behind Governor Kathy Hochul.

As you know, Governor Hochul was a friend and she was handpicked by Cuomo to be his Lieutenant Governor. However, she was among one of the first to throw him under the bus, in the midst of the allegations, launched against him.

I imagine that those four (4) points will evaporate very soon and Governor Hochul will have to consider asking Governor Cuomo for his support, if she wishes to be officially elected by the people to the governorship.

As President of the “New York Hispanic Clergy Organization”, I am looking forward to hosting Governor Cuomo on Thursday, March 17, 2022. We welcome him to the South…

On Friday, March 8, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., the New York City Department of City Planning (DCP) and the Mayor’s Office of Ethnic and Community Media (MOECM) convened a press briefing to unveil the City of Yes for Economic Opportunity initiative, Mayor Eric Adams’s ambitious plan to revamp the city’s zoning regulations in support of small businesses and entrepreneurs. DCP Director and City Planning Commission Chair Dan Garodnick, accompanied by José Bayona, Executive Director of MOECM, provided insights into the proposal, highlighting modifications made in response to community input.

The City of Yes for Economic Opportunity, part of Mayor Adams’s broader “City of Yes” initiatives, consists of 18 proposals aimed at modernizing New York City’s commercial and manufacturing zoning. If implemented, the initiative promises to facilitate the largest expansion of space available for clean manufacturing in the city’s history, effectively unlocking an area equivalent to the size of Manhattan for new economic opportunities. Additionally, it seeks to address barriers hindering the expansion of over 17,000 businesses in industrial areas and aims to abolish remnants of the antiquated and discriminatory Cabaret Law still embedded in zoning regulations.

The briefing served as a platform to clarify the objectives and implications of the City of Yes for Economic Opportunity initiative. It also provided an opportunity to address queries from the media.

Key Goals of the City of Yes for Economic Opportunity:

1. Make it easier for businesses to find space and grow to lift barriers so businesses can be closer to their customers.

2. Boost growing industries to reduce obstacles for new types of businesses.

3. Enable more business-friendly streetscapes to deliver active, safe, and walkable streets for businesses and residents.

Steve Kerr, the celebrated head coach of the Golden State Warriors, has truly made his mark in NBA history. He is known for his brilliant strategies and top-notch leadership. But there is more – with his latest contract extension, Kerr has become the highest-paid coach in NBA history. This achievement is not just about the money; it is a clear sign of his unmatched success and the huge impact he’s had on the team.

Fans who love championships and folks who keep a close eye on March Madness odds need to stay up-to-date on these big basketball happenings.

The Journey to the Top

Steve Kerr’s NBA journey is the ultimate glow-up story. Picture this: he bags five NBA championships as a player—yup, just like Nikola Jokic snagging that MVP status. But Kerr? He did not stop there. He smoothly pivoted from hitting shots on the court to calling shots from the broadcasting booth, and then, to everyone’s awe, he jumped into coaching. In 2014, when he took the reins of the Golden State Warriors, it wasn’t just a new chapter; it was a whole new book for the team. Kerr hit the ground running, and bam! The Warriors transformed into this unstoppable force, championing a game style that is all about speed, splashing threes, and just outsmarting the competition.
